Careers to Consider Within the Creative Field

November 23, 2020 Laura

The current world requires people with the right skills. Gone are the days when academic certificates determined whether you’ll get a job or not. Currently, only the skills you have matter. That’s why the creative field is producing some of the most successful people in the world. However, you need to know the best careers to study in this field. Here are the top three careers in the creative field.

1. Art director

Art directors are the professionals contacted whenever designs of photographs and other visual elements featuring in advertisements are required. They come up with ideas on how the designs will look. They also manage photographers, set builders, and graphic designers who use the ideas. However, to get to this level, you’ll need to start off as a creative professional first. Luckily, a concept art online school can help with that. An online program like this allows you to learn from industry professionals, improving your art skills in various activities.

Art directors also need to interface with clients to know the timelines for the work. They also create and follow budgets for the various projects, so working on your time-management and budgeting skills is also crucial.

2. Technical Writing

Technical writing is one of the most in-demand careers nowadays. It requires most of the skills in other forms of writing. A technical writer’s role is to create texts that will convey information in blogs, journals, articles, and websites. When done perfectly, technical writing can earn people who have built up their technical knowledge a lot of money. Therefore, it is a career worth consideration since the work can be done remotely or as a permanent job in an organization.

To enter this career field, you will need:

  • Technical knowledge
  • Communication skills
  • Great writing skills

3. Fashion Designing

Not every artwork hangs on the walls. Fashion designs are good examples to prove this. A fashion designer is a person who creatively designs new and unique styles of clothing. They love aesthetic designs and have the necessary computer skills to craft hand-drawn sketches and graphics. These graphics are used to work clothing, bags, and other accessories. The career is more of a business because it’s the consumers who decide the earnings. For the most success, you have to ensure you:

  • Keep an eye on the trends in this industry to avoid lagging behind.
  • Are creative enough to release new designs at least every month.
  • Have to remember that fashion designing is a business.

Are creative careers always insecure in terms of income?

Security and stability in jobs where creativity is required vary from one type of work to another. However, just like businesses, there are high and low seasons. Therefore, you’ll earn more in certain seasons than you will in others. Whether you are a student or a worker who’s considering a lateral move, you don’t have to choose between a professional job and making a living. There are thousands of careers where creativity is the number one requirement. From artwork to fashion designing, you need to be creative enough such that you can come up with new ideas whenever required. Why not check these top three careers?
