Safe Link Building Techniques to Adopt for Your Website

Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is the most critical component of your online branding process. SEO is scalable, transparent, and you can actually measure the gains in terms of real metrics. One of the critical aspects of a comprehensive SEO plan is link building. SEO link building, done right, is appreciated by Google and other search engines. With this, you are basically trying to acquire backlinks to your website, which not only brings organic traffic but also helps in enhancing brand value and trust.

In this post, we are discussing some of the safest link building strategies and techniques that you can adopt for your website.

Domain authority counts

Moz developed what is called the Domain authority metric. So, if a website has a good DA score, you get more results by getting published on those websites. Link building is only effective when you are focused on high-quality links, and for that, you have to consider domain authority of websites you approach. DA over 30 is considered to be decent, and to know that, you just have to download the MozBar Addon. There is plenty of information online for this.

Don’t forget brand mentions

Brand mentions are particularly important, because at the end of the day, link building is an organic thing, and you want to get a reciprocal link to your website. If your website link or other details have been mentioned by other blogs and websites, it opens the scope for fostering collaboration. Presence on social media, ability to influence other bloggers is aspects that must be considered, especially for white-hat link building.

Link relevance is necessary

Paid search never really yields the results you would be looking for, especially when you compare the benefits of getting genuine, organic and relevant links. Basically, you don’t want to get links from any random website. The websites you get links from need to be relevant for your niche and audience. For that, understanding your target audience and what they prefer to read are things that matter. Creating specific content and ensuring that the content holds value to this target audience segment are important steps in effective and result-oriented link building.

Get links from responsive websites

It goes without saying that mobile-friendly websites are important. Google has been focusing on voice search, and more than half of all internet searches are initiated on a mobile device. You want to get inbound links from such websites that are optimized from mobile, because chances are high that your audience is browsing these sites from handheld devices. Visibility on these sites ensures that you capture the right segment of the market.

Don’t forget infographics

Infographics are being recommended as one of the better ways to promote links. When it comes to infographics, relevance, simplicity and effectiveness does count. Also, ensure that infographic images are not extremely large in size, because that could affect the loading speed. If you are using other resources, please include links to those, and try and create a story, because most sites and your audience will appreciate the same. Infographics should be backed by a nice description and make sure there are charts included. You can check for website listings online to find the ones that accept infographics.

In conclusion

When it comes to link building, always follow the organic norms and stick to the guidelines shared by Google. Cheating may yield some initial results, but guest posting and link building are for the long term, so your strategy needs to be in sync with evolving SEO trends. If you are still not sure of how to go ahead with link building, hire an SEO agency for the job.
