Portable Yoga Studio – What You Will Need

February 22, 2021 Laura

Would you like to have a yoga studio no matter where you go? If so then there is a simple solution and that is to create a handy and portable yoga studio which you can take with you. Now of course we don’t expect you to be carrying around your studio everywhere that you go, but there are many accessories that you can find which will be perfect for a compact set up which you can take wherever you need, so that whatever the weather, and whatever the location, you can relax and enjoy a fun and meditative yoga session.

Here are the basics that you need to get started with a portable yoga kit.

The Mat

The most cumbersome of items that you will need is a mat, and that will be the thing that you have to select most carefully. What you are looking for here is a mat which is solid enough to give you the support that you need, yet one which is not too heavy for you to carry around. Once you have found the mat which works best for you, it is critical that you then consider adding a strap to it which means that you can then carry it around on your back.

Foam Rollers

Foam rollers are a great way of helping to lift you off the ground as you are performing your exercises and the best part about them is that they can be really crushed down so that they are sleight enough to fit inside the rolled up mat. Not all exercises call for foam rollers of course but they are a nice addition to have, which will help you to increase the number of positions that you can perform.

Yoga Block

There are some sizable yoga blocks that you can find which you can use at home, but when we are talking about the creation of a portable kit, a flatter, easier to carry block is still enough to help you to raise your hips when performing certain exercises. Much like the rollers you can find slim yoga blocks which will help to elevate you and which are simple enough for you to carry.

Meditation Pillow

Meditation pillows will help you to lay back and really get the most out of your yoga experience and these are easy to scrunch up and take with you. Sometimes you may find that there is nowhere soft to lay your head when you are practicing about yoga on the go, which is why this is the ideal accessory to put in your bag and to take with you, so that you can relax in peace no matter where you happen to be.

And finally you should seek out an outerbag which is big enough to house your mat and your accessories. You can find these bags with holes in them where you will be able to pull the straps of the mat through so that you can carry it on your bag. With this kit no matter where you happen to be, you will be able to get your yoga practice done.
