Skin Exfoliation Mistakes You Might Make When Bathing

When you bathe, you try your best to cleanse your entire body including your face. You want your skin to look fresh and glowing. It is also why you use products that will help you look amazing. Exfoliation is one of the processes that help bring out that youthful glow. Although some skincare products can help you, it is also possible that you might make things worse.

Frequent exfoliation

It helps if you use products to remove dead skin cells. However, you cannot do it all the time. Make sure that you exfoliate only when necessary. If you think your skin is still healthy and glowing, you might have to stop using the products for a while. They contain chemicals to force the removal of dead skin cells, and the new ones might get affected in the process.

Dry exfoliation

The reason why it is best if you exfoliate in the shower is that you want to do so when your skin is wet and moist. Dry exfoliation could be painful and might irritate your skin. You will also feel uncomfortable in the process. It is even possible for your skin to bleed and get scars.

Failure to moisturise

Once you exfoliate, you remove dead skin cells and leave the next layer exposed. You need to use moisturisers to seal the pores and avoid skin irritation. Make sure though that you choose the right moisturising product since some brands could further irritate your skin.

Scrubbing too hard

It is not necessary to scrub your face too hard. Do it gently because the moisturising product is already doing the job. You need to press slightly harder than other facial cleansing products, but not to the point that your skin feels hurt.

Not checking the ingredients

Check the list of ingredients written on the label first. Not all skin types are the same. Some people have problems with oily skin. Others have dry skin or acne-prone skin. Make sure you check the ingredients first to find out if there is anything on the list that could worsen the problem. You also need to talk to your dermatologist if you have skin allergies, especially with the use of some chemicals on your face.

Exfoliating only the face

Another reason why you need to exfoliate while bathing is that you do not only exfoliate your face. You also need to exfoliate the other parts of your body. You will find other body care products focused on the shedding of dead skin.

To make it easy for you to bathe and relax while exfoliating, shower cabins can make it easier at home. You can install one for a more luxurious bathing experience. You will stay longer in the shower room if you are cleansing your entire body. With a shower cabin, you will feel relaxed and secure. It feels like you are in a local spa when you are at home.
