If you have lower back pain you’ll know how much it can affect your daily life. While you might not be suffering from pain every day, when it does hit the pain can really have an impact on your mood. The good news is there are some things you can do to ease your pain.

Get a Medium to Firm Mattress

Many of us like to have a soft mattress however, they can make our bad back even worse. In some cases, they might even be the cause of the lower back pain. Consider using a medium to firm mattress as it will offer your back much more support. While a harder mattress might not feel comfortable at first, you will get used to it. A soft mattress is ideal for back pain. Air-foam mattresses are among the softer side and offer a high quality and high extent of Comfortableness when sleeping.

Stretch!

Sometimes lower back pain can be eased by stretching. Just make sure that you stretch your back before and after you exercise or you lift something heavy. You might also want to consider stretching before you go to bed. You don’t have to do any fancy stretches, just bend forward, back and to the side. If you want real help for back pain, you might want to consider taking up yoga.

Maintain a Good Posture

Having a good posture is not always as easy as it sounds. We tend to walk and sit badly and this can have an impact on our back. When you stand up, make sure that your ears are over your shoulders. You shoulders should be located over your hips and your hips should be over your ankles. If you stand like this, you will have a much better posture.

When it comes to sitting down, you should ideally sit in a chair that has been designed to keep your back nice and straight. If you sit down for long periods of time, please make sure your lower back is supported.

Lift Correctly

When it comes to picking up something heavy you need to make sure that you lift correctly. You can do this by bending your knees rather than your back. Make sure you do not twist your body when you’re lifting as this can cause a lot of back pain.

If you need to lift a lot of heavy items consider wearing a brace. This can help you to maintain a good posture and help you to avoid hurting your back.

Loose Weight if you Need to

Maintaining a healthy weight can help to relieve lower back pain. This is because if you carry extra weight you’ll be putting more strain on your lower back. Try to lose weight by eating a balanced diet and getting enough exercise.

There are a few things you can do to help ease your lower back pain. Each of the above methods could make a difference to your pain and make you feel so much better. You don’t have to go to great lengths to ease the pain, a good posture, lifting correctly, and stretching could help for starters.
