5 Things Your Real Estate Agent Won’t Tell You

Here are some secrets which you should identify when you hire a real estate agent or even during the process of buying, selling or renting a home. Critically evaluate the actual performance of a realtor before hiring him as it can help you immensely for the smooth sailing of the entire process.

1. Self-Promotion

Digital marketing and self-promotion have changed the marketing game and it has stepped up to an entirely new level. Especially, when you are hiring an individual realtor rather than a company, it becomes quite difficult to understand if the realtor, who is going to be chosen, is credible enough to hire or not. Most of them self-promote them with social media ads and claim to be the top realtor even without the proof. So, always hire a real estate agent after analyzing his performance rather than getting impressed by the self-praising tactics.

2. Reference Check

Even if you are hiring a real estate agent from an agency, do check references of that agency. Given references can be fake as according to research, one-third of the reviews given on the internet are fake. So, personally call to the people who used this real estate agency or the specific realtor who you are going to hire. In addition to this all, you also need to ask from the review-provider that how they know the realtor as sometimes, they can be realtor’s own friends or family members having different phone numbers or houses.

3. Do Not Take the Advice, Given By Your Realtor, Too Seriously

This is quite essential to do as when you hire a real estate agent to sell your home, he may ask you to renovate the entire kitchen or spend a lot of money on the decoration of the kitchen. This would not be a logical decision to listen to every advice of the realtor as you are not going to use your house anymore. In addition to this, there is no need to spend a lot on the kitchen renovation because no one is going to buy your house only because of a renovated kitchen. So, spend wisely.

4. Beware of Seller’s Realtor If You Are a Buyer

Your realtor may be working for someone else – may be for the potential seller. In this way, you may get trapped by the realtor as he will try his best to misguide you about the market and may influence you to buy a house which is overpriced. So, when you make a decision to buy a house, try to interpret its original price with the help of multiple real estate agents. You may would like to see this checklist before you consider buying a house.

5. Beware of Buyer’s Realtor If You Are a Seller

As mentioned above, you need to critically perform the background check so that you do not get deceived by the realtor of the potential buyer. When you decide to sell your house, first estimate its worth. However, for this purpose, do not rely on taking service of a single real estate agent. Instead, consider getting help from a number of realtors so that you get accurately estimated price. As a consequence of it, you can escape yourself from the trick of such realtor who wants to get your house sold at a lower price.

6. Buyers Don’t Like Cluttered Houses

You may think that you don’t need to focus on house decor as you are selling it but you can’t be more wrong here. Buyers like to see spacy houses with things at their places. If you’re looking to remove old stuff from your house, using a junk removal service is your best bet!
