Best places to go shopping in the UK this Christmas

October 28, 2019 Laura

For some people the mere mention of Christmas at this point in the year is considered way too early, but for others the panic has already set in. If you’re one of those people who like to be well prepared and are already thinking about doing your Christmas shopping, we’ve put together a list of destinations in the UK that you should visit to get the most out of your Christmas shopping experience.

Liverpool One, Liverpool

If you are visiting Liverpool you definitely need to stop by Liverpool One as there’s such a variety of shops and restaurants for you to explore – over 170! There’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking for luxurious brands like Victoria’s Secret or The White Company, to getting toys for the little ones from stores like Disney or The Lego Shop. If you get tired from all the shopping you can head to one of the many bars and restaurants and don’t forget to stop by Chavasse Park Christmas Market for all your festive fun activities.

Bicester Village, Oxfordshire

Bicester Village is home to over 160 boutiques from designer and luxury brands. It’s a high end outlet with brands such as Gucci, Armani and Prada but you can find yourself some huge discounts just in time for Christmas, whether you’re treating yourself or a loved one. When you’ve finished shopping you can try one of the many cafes and restaurants for a seasonal snack or a delicious, freshly made waffle.

Oxford Street, London

As soon as the Oxford Street lights are turned on and have transformed London into a sparkly, twinkling winter wonderland, you know Christmas is on its way. The road dazzles spectators with an estimated 750,000 LED lights inspired by falling snowflakes. Shoppers flock to Oxford Street to check out the famous Christmas window displays from department stores such as Selfridges, Debenhams and John Lewis.

Victoria Street, Edinburgh

Edinburgh is a beautiful city especially during the Christmas period and Victoria Street is one of the city’s prettiest streets. With its colourful painted independent shops, Victoria Street is said to be the inspiration for the wizarding shopping street featured in Harry Potter, Diagon Alley. Here you will be able to find joke shops, old bookshops and boutique clothes shops. Edinburgh is also well-known for its magical Christmas markets and you can stop by for glühwein and Christmas cookies at East Princes Street Gardens.

These are just some of the many places you can visit in the UK for all your gift buying needs.
