Tips for Men Who Want to Look and Feel Their Best

There are plenty of different industries that have developed over the years specifically to cater to female beauty needs. However, thanks to a changing climate of equality and breaking down old-fashioned gender roles, it is no longer just women who deserve to feel attractive and confident. Society tends to assume that men either don’t care or don’t know how to attend to their appearance in such a way that it reconnects to their sense of self-expression. Of course, this is simply not the case. Women and men alike want to put their best foot forward, so here are a few useful tips for men who want to look and feel their best.

Confidence

The first step to feeling your best is to nurture your confidence. This doesn’t mean becoming unnaturally bombastic or bull-headed but instead finding an inner calm that exudes from your actions and words every time you interact with the world around you. It can be a challenge to work on your self-confidence, especially in today’s world of social media and celebrity worship. Taking the time to pay attention to your innermost thoughts and feelings will give you a good foundation from which to build your confidence and thus express yourself clearly and contentedly to the world.

Skincare

Looking good isn’t as vital in feeling your best as building up your confidence, but it does help smooth the road. Women’s skincare is a booming industry and has been for decades. Fortunately, there are no real biological differences between men and women that mean you can’t take advantage of these products yourself. Avoid falling for marketing traps that are designed to play up to your supposed sense of ‘manliness’ and be more discerning, looking for skincare products that contain the right chemicals for your particular skin type. This can take some finessing and practice, but eventually, you will find yourself blemish-free and feeling good.

Hair

It’s hard to ignore the fact that people seem impressed by a ‘good head of hair’ on a man. This can be something of a sore point for many who experience different types of hair loss, such as alopecia and male pattern balding. There are several ways to combat the negative emotions surrounding hair loss:

  • Shaving your head and embracing the distinguished bald head,
  • Seeking artificial replacements such as sprays and clever styling,
  • Finding hair transplant Turkey services to help you feel like your younger self.

Shaving

Facial hair comes in many different forms depending on how much it grows, its texture, its color and how it is styled. Some people prefer to sport the clean-shaven look while others grow tailored mustaches and carefully cropped beards. No matter what the current trend or the opinions of others, your facial hair is yours to do with as you see fit. You can match it to your clothing style by pairing neat outfits with a clean-shaven face or contrast with a full and rugged beard. You could bring back a forgotten style and start your own trend. As long as you are comfortable and feel good about how you look, you’re doing it right. It’s only hair, after all.

Hygiene

Good hygiene is easily one of the most important parts of feeling good about yourself. A fresh body can make subtle yet definite differences to a person’s attitude and, therefore productivity. Find a bathing routine that suits your lifestyle and choose scents that please you. Brushing your teeth twice a day is vital for a healthy mouth and can make you less self-conscious about your smile. Preventing body odor is also a good way to feel better about yourself, so choose a deodorant that you like and find your favorite cologne to complement your style.

Style

Speaking of style, finding your own can make a surprisingly large difference to how you see yourself. It is easy to fall into the habit of copying trends simply to maintain the sense of community with those around you, but stepping out of the box and expressing yourself through what you wear is oddly liberating. Your shoes, your clothes, your accessories, your hairstyle – these all tell the world something about who you are. Do you want to come across professional? Laid back? Eccentric? Progressive? Get to know yourself and start exploring your wardrobe options for ways of conveying your personality to other people. By expressing yourself in this way, you create a shorthand of your identity that will help you navigate society in the way you choose.
