3 Ways Technology Can Help You Be More Creative

October 18, 2022 Laura

Technology is not the killer of creativity. In fact, it could be argued that great amounts of creativity had to go into creating most of the tech that we use today. From cell phone designs to car models and more, creativity is in everything we see.

Conversely, technology can be used by us to help us boost our own creative levels. Whether that is by simply setting a timer on your phone to do drawings, or using the amazing drawing applications available for download, to create a new form of art.

The possibilities of using tech for creativity are truly endless. We need to be open-minded and find new ways of creating never seen before things. Here’s how you can use tech to boost your own creativity.

Use Technology To Put Restrictions In Place

Most of the time people consider technology and the devices that we have on hand to be the killer of creativity. When we try to sit down and draw a picture, write a poem, or make some music, we are always drawn back to the screens or have our minds wonder about what our friends are posting on social media. And while this is true, our devices can be a large source of distraction, they can also be the exact opposite when used properly.

Our devices have an endless array of uses, but one of the absolute best uses is that we can implement restrictions upon ourselves through our devices. Download a productivity app and dedicate a certain amount of time a day to pursuing creative endeavours. Implementing something as simple as this every day may help your creative output double or even triple.

Ask Your Technology Questions

Technology knows all – or at least it stores all of the information ever known. If you want to start creating in a new medium or learn how to paint or play the guitar your technology and devices can be your best friend. In the past, you’d need to seek out a guitar and painting teacher in your area (if there even were any), contact them for a lesson, and pay money to learn a new creative skill.

Now you can just log onto your device and start learning a new skill at the very moment you think it is a good idea. This might help with your motivation, the feeling of doing something might dissipate the longer you wait. You could even sign up at a site like Big Dollar Casino and learn how to play a new game – the possibilities are endless once you start to look for them.

Use Social Media To Your Advantage

People who spend their life creating art truly no longer have to suffer the financial burdens that accompany that career path. Now you have endless streams through which you can make connections in the art world, promote your own work, and cultivate a loyal base of customers.

Yes, social media may be killing creativity in some, but if you use it correctly your creativity could be rewarded in the online space.
