What to Expect from a Mini Face Lift in Chicago?

While a major face lift, or Rhytidectomy as its known in the medical community, can create a dramatic change in someone’s facial appearance, a Mini Face Lift can be less noticeable and discreet, so that your friends and family think you’ve just been working out and lost some weight rather than just had major plastic surgery. So if you want a Mini Face Lift in Chicago what can you expect from the procedure?

Results from a Mini Face Lift in Chicago

The results of a Mini Face Lift are noticeable but not such much that people will know you’ve had surgery. Such a procedure will give you a boost in confidence and shed years from your appearance.

Typically a Mini Face Lift is carried out along the cheeks, jowls and neckline, lifting the face in these areas, making them look tighter, with less visible fat and younger looking skin.

What is Done During a Mini Face Lift?

The Mini Face Lift procedure consists of three very short incisions in the cheeks, jowls and neckline to surgically remove excess fat and skin. The tissue is then pulled taut and the incisions closed with sutures to heal with minimal scarring in discreet natural contour areas.

How Long Does a Mini Face Lift Take, and What is the Recovery Time?

A Mini Face Lift as you may expect from the name is a relatively minimal surgical procedure and takes about 90 minutes under anaesthesia to be completed. It is an outpatient procedure so as soon as you have recovered from the anaesthesia you can be released to recover at home. Recovery typically takes two to three days, with the minimal bruising clearing up within a week.

Who is an Ideal Candidate for a Mini Face Lift?

Mini Face Lifts may not provide the results required for everyone, a full Face Lift and other corrective procedures may be necessary for some to achieve the results they want. However, a Mini Face Lift should be suitable for someone in generally good health, within 20 pounds of their goal weight. The procedure will improve the overall look of the face for someone who is aging and wants to reduce sagging tissue along the lower face and neck, although the procedure can benefit people of any age or are concerned about their facial appearance due to genetics or weight loss.

What Won’t a Mini Face Lift achieve?

Some people are under the impression that a Mini Face Lift could remove wrinkles, crow’s feet or under-eye bags. However, this is not the case as a Face Lift wither a Mini Face Lift or full Face Lift will not affect these areas. But other rejuvenation procedures can be combined with a Face Lift to maximise aesthetic results. For example, a Brow Lift can smooth the wrinkles in the forehead and frown line and Dermal Fillers can relieve crow’s feet and depleted facial volume. These procedures can be combined to provide the desired results.
